The Great Return

Happy and Anxious Anticipation... ...Eliza was dreaming about it. It's like going to bed on Christmas Eve so Santa comes sooner... That's how excited Eliza was to meet her Uncle Robby... ...she was even all dressed up in her authentic Brazilian soccer jersey and woke up just in time... ...we finally caught a glimpse... ...and the slow people in front of him finally got out of the way and realized that we weren't smiling and taking pictures and waving at them... ... and we finally got to have our awkward greetings/welcome home to the touch-shy Elder Meldau...!! ... Uncle and niece finally meeting... ...Brother and Sisters finally REUNITED!!!....

(notice how much I'm leaning towards Elder Meldau and how rigid he looks in comparison. Haha!)

First American Meal... at the International House of Pancakes, no less! No longer a set-apart missionary! Mom, Robby, Dad, and Stake Pres. Jensen Robby, Mom Robby, Mom, Eliza Meldau Family!

Robby, we're so glad you're home-- words can't describe! But we're so grateful for the service and happiness you gave to the many many Brazilian people--old,young, member, convert, missionary, and us back home... the list goes on.

I'm impressed by the humble and hard working person you've grown into. (I knew you had changed the instant you started setting the table without even being asked. jk.)

I am especially grateful for the testimony of the atonement that you shared when it was just you and me talking and also during your talk. Especially these words:

2 Corinthians 4:17 For our light affliction which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

Alma 7:11 And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.

If I had the chance to do it over again, I would totally serenade you with Whitney Houston's Hero song... all for you. Way to go little brother.

Thanks so much for posting the pictures! I too am very impressed with what Robby did and how he did it and that he shared with us! Going to miss the weekly emails...

Those first few awkward missionary pictures are priceless! How fun to have your brother home.

Yay! How exciting! Welcome home Robby. And finally a picture of preggers Katy (since she refuses to post herself on her blog), even though she doesn't look pregnant at all.

I have been thinking about Robby's arrival since Thursday. It is great to see all the pictures. Robby was a wonderful missionary and you are a great sister, Amy!

Welcome Home Robby.

Thank you for saying that Rebecca. I tell her that all the time and she doesn't believe me.
