Peek-a-Boo!

Here's Eliza playing peek-a-boo! We were surprised that she already enjoys this game. She seems to like it so much that she starts smiling before we even take the clothe off her face... or maybe she just wants to eat her bib.

Sunday Stroll

We went out for one of the famous Meldau Sunday Strolls with the dog and the baby in the backpack this evening on the little wooded trail by our apartment. It was gorgeous, and Eliza loved it especially once she zonked out after just a few minutes of walking. That backpack is like a sedative for her-- she'd stay in it all day if I'd let her! -Amy

Bird Watching... Us

We've seen lots of different wildlife, especially lots of birds on the trail-- I've even seen a few deer. So when we looked up on the trail and saw a HUGE bird flying above us, we were excited. "What is it? An eagle? Hawk?... or... a turkey?"

Oh, wait. How neat, it's a vulture... Steve said apparently we weren't walking fast enough, and it had come to wait for us to die. -Amy

Still waiting...

Daddy Tummy Time!

This picture is kinda hard to see (b/c I took it), but I thought it was a cute picture of Steve being a very sweet daddy and practicing tummy time with Eliza! -Amy

Cute Potato

Eliza is hanging out on the couch.

Eliza's Pretty Dress

Eliza wore a pretty dress from Grandma and Grandpa Morrison to church on Sunday, receiving much honor and praise. She appeared to be ready to step out to the Baby Prom, but Mom and Dad told her she couldn't go until she's older. She cried for awhile, but she got over it.

Stunning New Footage!!

This video depicts what we affectionately refer to as "towel time!"(It has great alliteration) but towel time is right after bath time, and Eliza just immediately stops crying and starts kicking all of her arms and legs around stretching out the towel while still snuggling underneath it. We think it's really cute and funny... and we're just grateful she's not crying.

This video shows Eliza performing her new talent this week-- neck crunches? We're not really sure what it is that she's doing, but we're impressed! It obviously takes a lot of muscle and effort to do, so it must be noteworthy.

This is just a video of Eliza in her bouncy chair. I thought she looked cute, but I was very close to deleting this video because I hate the way I sound in it. Just keep in mind that I'm trying to talk while still smiling and maybe my voice will annoy you a little less!

Grandma's Gifts

Here are some pictures with Eliza sporting her pretty new hair bow and pacifier from her Oma! Thanks Oma! I was so excited that the hair bow works in her hair! Her hair seems to really be growing. But this will be a fun way to clue people in to the fact that she's a girl, since they apparently can never tell, even when I have her in all pink with a pink blankie and say her name's Eliza.

Welcome

This blog is devoted to our baby Eliza Mae Meldau Morrison who was born on April 30, 2007. She's pretty much the best baby ever made!

7/15/07

Eliza was born weighing 8 lbs. 9.9 oz! A healthy girl with lots of fuzzy brown hair. She immediately won our hearts.

She also won over her Oma and Grandpa Ron!

and a little later her Grandma and Grandpa Morrison...

... and then on her blessing day she got acquainted with a few more relatives!

and since then she's been busy discovering her world-- and growing fast!
